Wooden chapel of St. Andrew in Novaki, mentioned in the canonical visitation of 1642.
The wooden Chapel of St. Andrew in Novaki was first mentioned in the canonical visitation of 1642, though there is no further mention of it in later documents. At this site, the brick Chapel of St. Andrew was erected in 1851, with elements of the late Baroque and Classicist periods. It was soon neglected, and underwent complete reconstruction in 1935.
The chapel was again refurbished in 2012, the grounds landscaped and the Stations of the Cross installed.
During the refurbishment, a box was found in one of the walls, containing three sheets of paper, one of which stating that Dr. Alojzije Stepinac, coadjuter Bishop, had blessed the altar in October 1934, and had placed the relics of the martyrs Clement, Justine and Venerandia in the altar.
